Volunteer Opportunity - Independent Listener - Dawn House School

Location: Dawn House School, Helmsley Rd, Rainworth, Mansfield, NG21 0DG

We have an exciting volunteering opportunity for an Independent Listener to work with young people in our flexible boarding provision. The Independent Listener is a person outside of the school who our residential students may contact directly about problems or concerns at school. Candidates must have an excellent understanding of safeguarding, an understanding and empathy with the needs of school age children and adolescents and experience of working with young people with additional needs in a supportive role.

Ideally you will be able to commit to half termly afternoon / evening visits to allow time to build relationships and engage with our children during routine and relaxed activities.

Full details of the opportunity can be found in the job description. However, if you would like to have an informal discussion about this opportunity and find out more about our flexible boarding provision and how this role fits in. Please do not hesitate to contact our residential services manager, Rebecca Baxter on either r.baxter@dawnhouse-ican.notts.sch.uk or by calling 01623 795361 who will be available after 3pm weekdays.
