Salary: Teachers Main Pay Scale or Upper Pay Scale depending on experience, plus SEN allowance

I CAN’s Meath School is a consistently outstanding special school committed to the highest quality integrated education, therapy and care. Meath is a non-maintained day and residential school for pupils aged between 4 – 11 years, who have severe and complex speech, language, and communication difficulties together with other learning and/or behavioural difficulties. Working collaboratively as part of strong and supportive multi-disciplinary team of teachers, therapists, learning support assistants and care officers we create stimulating learning environments, where all pupils are enabled to communicate as effectively as possible, individuals are valued, and achievement is celebrated.

At Meath school, we a looking for an enthusiastic and dedicated teacher to join our amazing multi-disciplinary team who is passionate about overcoming the barriers to learning and supporting children to reach their true potential.  The candidate should be forward thinking and be interested in developing their career in an outstanding well-resourced school catering for children with Speech, language, and communication needs.  There will be lots of opportunity for continued professional development as well as access to an amazing team of therapists who are committed to supporting the children at our school.

Serving children and families for 130 years, I CAN today consists of two special schools, Meath School (Surrey) and Dawn House School (East Midlands); a social enterprise that develops and distributes a wide range of materials, training packages and interventions across the nation; the I CAN Help portfolio of information and advice for parents, carers, and practitioners; and is the host for The Communication Trust, a consortium of over 50 organisations in the field of communication. I CAN’s mission is that no child should be left out or left behind because of a difficulty speaking or understanding.
