Interim Speech & Language Advisor

Location: London & home based
Salary: 36,087 to £37,913 per annum pro rata, depending on experience
Contract: 12 months contract, part time (21 hours per week)

This is an exciting time to join our organisation.   We are seeking an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to work for I CAN towards the delivery of a new project based in the London Borough of Wandsworth – the Nursery Inclusion Project @ Albemarle (NIP@A). The project aims to develop a sustainable model of effective setting support for all children’s SLC across universal, targeted and specialist levels. Children will develop their communication skills to enable them to transition to school more easily and those presenting with emerging social, emotional and mental health needs will be supported by holistic approaches within their settings. A key element of the project will be to evaluate the model and contribute to recommendations for sustainable approaches.

The focus of the work will be in partnership with five settings in the Putney and Roehampton area with project support provided in house by I CAN. You will be managed by I CAN’s NIP@A project lead.  

The successful candidate will be able to access the settings in Putney/Roehampton and be able to show demonstrable evidence of:

  • At least 4 years’ experience as a Speech and Language Therapist, ideally within Early Years
  • An interest in working with families, whole setting development and evaluation
  • Registration with HCPC and RCSLT.
  • The ability to travel to settings, as and when required. I CAN works within the government’s Covid-19 guidelines

The successful candidate must have a DBS Enhanced Check.
