Our Organisation

At I CAN our work and people are spread across three main locations in the UK. Our two outstanding special schools for children with language disorder are in Ottershaw, Surrey and Rainworth, Nottinghamshire. Our charity’s head office is in Islington, London.

At I CAN we:

  • Provide outstanding education at our two special schools for children with language disorder.
  • Provide direct support to parents through our helpline and providing information and advice for parents and practitioners through our Talking Point website, supporting over 440,000 people each year.
  • Develop and distribute programmes across the UK for children with language delay.
  • Provide training materials, toolkits and learning platforms for the nation’s workforce who are responsible for the education and care of children with SLCN.
  • Provide clear and robust evidence from our work to influence policy makers and government.
  • Work in partnership with other organisations, we campaign for better information, advice and improved services to the hundreds of thousands of children and their families not receiving the speech, language and communication support they need.
