A speech and language assessment can help you understand your child’s difficulties and find the right support.
If you are concerned about your child’s speech and language development, find out how an assessment can help and what to expect.
You can ask for your child to be referred for speech and language therapy by your health visitor or GP. However, you can also make a referral yourself; most speech and language therapy services will take a direct referral. Phone your local NHS switchboard and ask them for your nearest children’s speech and language therapy service.
